Sheriff Kevin Garrett

Sheriff Kevin Garrett is a lifelong Lincoln County resident with a career dedicated to public service and community safety. A native of the area, Kevin and his wife make their home in Stroud, where they enjoy raising cattle and cherishing time with their four adult children and three grandchildren.

Kevin’s distinguished career in law enforcement began with the Stroud Police Department after graduating from CLEET in 1986. He later served with the Chandler Police Department and contributed as a two-term member of the Stroud City Council. In 1994, Kevin joined the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, where he rose to the rank of Assistant Special Agent in Charge—overseeing major crimes and public corruption investigations across 12 counties—before retiring as a Lieutenant in June 2023.

Beyond his law enforcement work, Kevin has served as a firefighter with the Stroud Fire Department for 32 years and has been a dedicated high school football referee for over 30 years. His commitment to continuous improvement is reflected in his extensive training, which includes advanced peace officer certification and specialized courses in areas such as homicide and fire investigations, active shooter response, and crime scene investigation. Kevin also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration-Finance from Central State University and was honored with a Special Congressional Recognition in 2022 for his outstanding service to the community.

As Sheriff, Kevin Garrett is committed to fostering safety, integrity, and strong community partnerships. His vision includes ensuring that every school is protected by a deputy, leveraging modern technology and K9 units, and building collaborative relationships with other departments—all to make Lincoln County a safe and prosperous place for families and businesses alike.
